RobFrain Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Ive been asked to look into a radio in our Year 11 Common Room. We need two / three speakers in the ceiling and a box on the wall with a simple volume control and "On/Off" on it. There a very simple hole into one of our cab rooms in the room above which I can thread some cables through so unsure what to do! Any ideas?!
ninjapirate Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 for the volume bit i would have thought something like this: Vision TC3-AMP Wall Amplifier Vision Techconnect TC3 AMP we have the digital version (buttons and a blue led) and its ok for a medium sized room. ceiling speakers would depend on what ceiling you have, hopefully a suspended one which will make it a bit easier, maybe something like this: VISATON - DL 18/2 8OHM - SPEAKER, 6.5" CEILING MOUNT 8 OHM | CPC UK Only bit i am stumped on at the moment is the radio - perhaps some kind of raspberry pi kind of thing?
RobFrain Posted October 18, 2016 Author Posted October 18, 2016 Looks good, through we don't want them to be able to plug their own things into the "input on the front"
NB9457 Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Cloud probably have something that would do the job. Something like the Cloud MA60 perhaps?
rad Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Don't forget the radio license https://www.gov.uk/licences-to-play-background-music Why not a normal radio with a jack output. Wire up common room speakers to an amp in your server room, lastly add a timer switch so you don't need to turn it on/off
