Hi,

Changed ISP earlier in the year, meant I had to change proxy as well. I dish out proxy by GPP

Have just started noticing that some machines have a yellow warning sign on the network icon with the message 'no internet connection' ... but all the users who have this issue DO have an internet connection.

Never had this problem before we changed ISP / Proxy....

I do see this occasionally on windows 7 machines which are behind an (LEA) authenticated proxy. Often windows seem to release eventually that it does have a connection after all. Sometimes we need a browser session to 'force' the warning symbol removal.

We have also noticed these yellow warning recently but it doesnt have any affect on the working of the pcs. We have also noticed that this goes away on some of the PCs when all of our Group Policies applied on the PC and it is permanent on some PCs.

Hi,

Interesting answers, thanks everyone.

I have read that this is down to a reg key that can be toggled to off

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\NlaSvc\Parameters\Internet

Set "EnableActiveProbing" to 0

Haven't tried it because I need to read up a bit more on what it actually does.

  • Thanks 2
