Anyone had this issue with windows 10 maxing out a HDD's read/write, while not actually ebing close to what the disk should be able to do?

Had it on 2 of my windows 10 PC's now.

the system drive flies, but the 1TB data drive is sticking at 100% usage and read/write speeds of <1MB.

I'd normally throw this out as a failing HDD issue, but its not the first time I've experienced this in windows 10 and I've fixed it on another device by reverting to windows 8

There doesn't appear to be an app running that's maxing the HDD, only that the max of the HDD is seriously low

Generally find its the indexing service same as with win8 basically grinds to a halt until it index finish. Disable the service and it normally disappears :p Might be worth a quick test

looks like I already disabled that at some point.

I'll check those out when I get back.

It did a 15 min warning shutdown on me last night and did a diskcheck at the time.

That seems to of resolved it and I'm back to seeing 100MB+ transfer speeds.
