Hi all,

I'm rebuilding images at the moment and wondering whether to use Enterprise or Professional.

Currently all our devices are Professional. Is there any advantage of going with Enterprise over Professional?

Thank you.

You can use BitLocker if you have a TPM chip on a computer... I think that's it really for useful features on Windows 7 Enterprise over Professional.

If you the entitlement to use Enterprise, you may as well use it. It won't lose you anything and the bits that you do get you may find advantageous.

You don't necessarily need a TPM to use Bitlocker, you can use a USB stick or a password in place of it.

Ah, thought TPM was a requirement in Windows 7 Enterprise for Bitlocker to work. I stand corrected then.

tpm isnt but if you dont have a tpm you need a usb drive/sd card you cant just use a password/pin (unless you consider the 40 digit unlock code a password

I remade an image for a school recently and went with Enterprise. TBH, I suspect the biggest benefit of doing so in a school in this day and age (of cryptoware) is AppLocker.
