deployed printers not shown in office/apps/etc

Hi guys, sorry not really sure where this one should go.

 

We've recently commenced a new print contract and everything that goes with that, previously we have used kix scripts to deploy the printers but we are trying to consolidate everything to be done via group policy so decided to deploy the printers this way.

 

The print queue deploys as it should however when users attempt to print the queue does not show as an option, simply opening "devices and printers" and then re opening the document and printing resolves the issue and they can now print as expected. (workaround is fine for staff but students do not have access to devices and printers)

 

anyone come across this before or any suggestions on what to try?
