timbo343 Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 How would you write a script to copy folder1 to folder 2 on different domains? Ive tried xcopy but you need authentication before you can copy the files. How would you encorporate this into a script of either bat of vbs. So basically im wanting to copy c:\folder1 from \\123.456.78.9 to c:\folder2 on \\987.654.32.1 but i need to enter authentication details. Can someone help? Tim
kmount Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Perhaps consider mapping 2 drives in the script where you can easily use credentials?
generalen Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Guess you could use syncback to do this, supports authentication and mapping network drives. Can use windows scheduled task to run. http://www.2brightsparks.com/syncback/syncback-hub.html
CyberNerd Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 You can do this with rsync http://www.samba.org/rsync/ We back up linux and windows servers this way, it uses a local password and can be scripted Edit: you want cwrsync for windows http://itefix.no/cwrsync/
jamin100 Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 couldnt you just map the drive on 1 server and then use a robocopy script to copy all the data accross?
Sylv3r Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 I could be wrong but something like /u [username] /p [password] or -u [username] -p [password] at the end of the script rings a bell.
