6Foot2 Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 Link: Quality Street bins the Toffee Deluxe... and brings in the Honeycomb Crunch - BBC Newsbeat Quality Street is replacing the Toffee Deluxe in its tins of sweets, changing Christmas forever. The brown-wrappered toffee is being replaced by a new choice, the Honeycomb Crunch. elsiegee40 Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 Rather see the coffee cremes back Me too. I love coffee cremes.
DJ-1701 Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 I maybe an uncultured swine, but for me coffee should be no were near chocolate. Not really much of a fan of toffee either really, and don't they still have the toffee penny and toffee finger anyway? 3
arwen Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 I'm in the coffee camp. Every box of chocolates should have a coffee one in them! 2
witch Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 I love toffee and am sad to see it go. But mrwITch, whose favourite sweet is the Crunchie, is very happy 2

Though I do feel several emergency dentists may now be going out of business... 1
Popular Post CAM Posted September 26, 2016 Popular Post Posted September 26, 2016 Good. They are the chocolate equivalent of dental landmines. You dip into the box intending to have "just one" and pop a nice soft sweet in your mouth. You are hooked. You pick more out, strawberry, soft toffee, mouth-melting wonders on your tongue. You rummage about the box knowing to avoid the circular ones because you will be there forever chewing then picking your teeth clean. And the long ones treated with caution, chewy enough to cause problems but thin enough to finish it off with a few bites and chews in a decent timeframe and a unique shape to identify them without a nasty surprise. But your guard is down. Be it Christmas booze or just the sugary goodness that you crave "right now" from the tin in front of you. The wrapper colours don't matter, it's a soft sugary sweet being unwrapped and popped in your mouth. You bite down and realise you have made a terrible mistake. Assuming your teeth survive the first hit you now have the rock hard toffee in your mouth like a traffic jam. The rest of the sweets in the tin tease you from their shiny wrappers as their rock solid accomplice is a blockade in your mouth. You can't chew but it would be sacrilege to spit it out, so you keep sucking and chewing, unable to get your next sugary fix. Eons seem to pass as you try to hurriedly finish off the heathen confectionary but it takes forever like an unending toffee traffic jam on your tongue. Then the door rings, or the phone goes, and you have to speak with the etiquette busting chocolate still sitting in your mouth. Eventually, the day comes that you peek into the tin wanting a chocolate and what do you see? Toffees, everywhere. Nothing but toffee. You want your chocolate fix but there are only the discarded and unwanted troublemakers sitting in the tin that nobody in the family wants. But someone's got to eat them.... 5

Andrew_C Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Surely the whole point is that there are things you don't particularly like, to make those you do seem so much better? Happy to eat any of the new ones that fellow Geeks don't want...
LincolnE Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Can't stand the toffee. Bring on the honeycomb 1
sparkeh Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Bah! The whole ruddy tin should be toffee sweets. And chocolate should never be mixed with coffee, its the Devil's work. Humbug! 2
6Foot2 Posted September 26, 2016 Author Posted September 26, 2016 ...Humbug! No, that's a different sweet entirely. 2
