pete Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 Since putting the September patches on a couple of servers, I've seen failed Veeam backups at the VSS snapshot stage on a couple of servers and today I've had Veeam (I think) snarl up a scheduled patch & reboot of a DC (backup window and reboot/patch windows do not overlap). We've been running Veeam for a while and backup has been pretty flawless until now. Is anyone else seeing anything strange? Currently at the "patch it together and get it running" stage for investigation when our lot have gone home.
Davit2005 Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 We used to get mismatch of ID's a while ago that would muck up virtual servers. We changed the AV scan schedule on the virtual servers so they didn't overlap and that seemd to fix. Apart from that I haven't done any September patches, TBH I don't normally patch straight away unless it is to fix a specific problem. I've been using Veeam since version 6.1 here and apart from the odd VSS issue and the mismatch it has been pretty flawless and I can't rate the product highly enough for reliability and support.
jtotheb Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 What version of Veeam? Nothing untoward here with v8 and the 2008R2 and 2012R2 servers that have received the September patches.
DavR Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 We upgraded to Veeam 9 (from 7) a few weeks back and having been getting a lot of failures. Mostly they work on the second or third retry, but it's still a bit worrying. "An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine" for each VM is the error we're getting. I'm not that familiar with Veeam, so I've sent this one over to my third line support.
