Hi all i am having a curious one here hoping someone could help. We have bought a couple of Linx 1010B to use in the learning support centre.

I have created a local student login and administrator login for both Tablets, and upgraded the to Windows 10 Education edition. All went swimmingly.

Now i want to create a restricted group policy for the student login, but obviously not for the administrator.

So on the first one i opened mmc, added group policy snap in, selected browse. Clicked the users tab and selected non-administrators group. Then made my Group Policy.

No problem.

However on the second tablet, which also has a student login and is upgraded to Win 10 Edu. When i add the group policy snap in, the users tab is missing when i try and browse for the non-administrators group and i have no idea why.

As far as i can tell both tablets are the same in every way apart from this.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Could you attach a screenshot of what you are getting and what it should look like? I've not seen a Local Group Policy Editor with a direct option for non-administrators unless we are talking about the SRP section.

Here are the screens shots from each of the tablets. Right.jpgright.jpg is the working one. Wrong.jpg wrong.jpgis the one I'm trying to get working.

Note in the wrong.jpg there is no users tab, only a computer one.

Thanks

How annoying... every one I am trying it on has it visible. Doesn't need any specific tools to be installed from what I can see either. Other people seem to have had this missing on other version of Windows, but no fix meantioned... out of interest any missing Windows updates on the device?

To any one else who is trying to replicate this...

[File] -> Add/Remove Snap-in... -> Group Policy Object Editor -> [Add >] -> [browse...]

You should now either see a Computer and User tab, or just a Computer tab with the User tab missing from Browse for a Group Policy Object window.

Yep its very annoying, cant lock the tablets down without it.

They both have all the latest windows updates on, same version of Windows 10, same hardware.

Anyone know how to clone pre-configured Linx 1010B Tablets?
