Largely due to the fact m$ don't seem to test properly. Using a range of different hardware including old PCs. Also older versions of Office. They rely on the insider program but these are power users not in schools/organizations.

Long Term Service Branch. Its more like the traditional Windows upgrades. You have 1 big release each year and that is supported for 10 years. You get bug fixes and security updates but not the fancy feature packs.

I just saw this thread and thought it said Witch doesn't like Windows 10. I'm guessing she doesn't either.☺

Any new o's will have some odd issues but I look at the major things that get broken/fixed/broken again and feel glad there's only 1 win10 laptop so far. That just randomly loses printers and drives. Unimpressed.

That's not true any more. The next big LTSB release is going to be in 2-3 years time.

Microsoft never publishes feature updates through Windows Update on devices that run Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB. Instead, it typically offers new LTSB releases every 2–3 years, and organizations can choose to install them as in-place upgrades or even skip releases over a 10-year life cycle.

 

LTSB is available only in the Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB edition. This build of Windows doesn’t contain many in-box applications, such as Microsoft Edge, Windows Store client, Cortana (limited search capabilities remain available), Microsoft Mail, Calendar, OneNote, Weather, News, Sports, Money, Photos, Camera, Music, and Clock. Therefore, it’s important to remember that Microsoft has positioned the LTSB model primarily for specialized devices.

 

Note. LTSB is not intended for deployment on most or all the PCs in an organization; it should be used only for special-purpose devices. As a general guideline, a PC with Microsoft Office installed is a general-purpose device, typically used by an information worker, and therefore it is better suited for the CB or CBB servicing branch.

Thats what they said last year, now there is a 2016 version

 

Still better than the alternative anyway You just have to go through here and look at how many issues have come up due to feature updates.

That was always the plan though. Release another LTSB a year after Windows 10 was released and then 2-3 years after that.
