Advice: Whiteboard glare from projector

Good evening all,

 

We've recently had a complaint about the glare from our projectors on a plain whiteboard. Upon investigating, yes the glare is bad (see attached) and the boards as expected are gloss and were spec'd by someone who didn't know and had little experience in board types.

 

I can only think of replacing the boards as diming the projector etc does not work. However our bursar does n't want to do that as it might start an epidemic and it is only one person who has complained. Are there any other suggestions?

Only real option is to replace with Matt surface dry wipe projection boards. To get the right result you need the right kit IMOI Edited September 16, 2016 by gybe78

That's what I said, wrong boards were spec'd at the time (my predecessors line manager). No one wants to pay for them though.

I'd imagine you can probably pick up boards dirt cheap, maybe even free these days. A lot of schools are ripping them out and putting TVs in. Where are you located?

That is the cheap option. We have to install ultra short throw projectors in all new rooms, not allowed to have those style projectors anymore due to h&s.

We had the same issue in a couple of science labs, our solution was to fit a pull down projector screen above the whiteboard so when the projector wasn't in use they could still use the whiteboard as normal. Obviously they are now unable to write on the projected image though so its not a 100% ideal solution!
