Is there a DFE requirement to archive YR 11 Home drives for 5 years after they leave?

Not sure on the legalities but we archive data for students because we've had a few come back and ask for their work as examples in interviews/uni etc.

We keep all of our stuff in a Archived user. The password gets reset every time we need access to it. I don't know how many years we will keep the data for though.

Don't think there's a specific requirement but we bung the leavers work onto a cheap NAS box and delete the oldest as it fills up, we probably have 3-4 years of leavers including staff.

I've started zipping all the leavers folders and storing them on a SharePoint drive.

I delete year 11 user accounts beginning of September, just in case the school want to email them about their gcse results.

Their work is stored on the server for 3 years, then any after that is archived to tape. I have the last 8 years on tape if needed, but usually if any data is requested by further colleges, it's usually within the first year.
