It's a mod for Half-Life 2, they've released version 5.0 today, take a look at the trailer:

 

 

I've never heard of this before, it looks pretty damn good if you ask me!

Been keeping tabs on this for many years, and played it a bit in that time. IMO it recreates the original beautifully but with necessary updates. The soundtrack, weapon feel and sound effects are all great. Play it with friends on a LAN if you can!

Source engine so Mac and Linux would be possible with work, but it's Windows only at present due to the version of Source that they've used.
