Zammo Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Hello all, We wish to put an AP into our sports hall. The official enclosure for our access point model is ~£500 which seems like a lot of money. Do you think it would be better sense to go for something like this: STI 9601 - 210x70mm Vandal Cage for Smoke, Fire and CO Detectors What do you guys do? Zammo
FN-GM Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 I avoided putting them in anything metal, in the past I have used this type of thing instead. Now i used outdoor AP's in the sports hall.
Zammo Posted August 9, 2016 Author Posted August 9, 2016 Can you send me a link to whatever that is ^^
MatthewL Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Looks to be some kind of waterproof enclosure as seen here Weatherproof Switches & Sockets, Outdoor Sockets | Wiring Accessories | Screwfix.com
FN-GM Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Yer thats the kind of thing. Loads on eBay Plastic Electrical Enclosure | eBay 1
Zammo Posted August 10, 2016 Author Posted August 10, 2016 Ah i see. And would one of those be able to take the odd basketball hit?
clockend25 Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Think so. We used to have them covering all our old 3Com APs here and they were pretty robust.
FN-GM Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Ah i see. And would one of those be able to take the odd basketball hit? I can confirm they do. I had the pleasure of trying them out
