Any suggestions please? Actually I've heard of parents doing this in the past. I think our chairman has a board in his basement too. Having a whiteboard installed at home is no different to installing in a school, just depends on the size of the room. Maybe worth knowing what they want to use the system for.

tech_guy Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 just get a wii Johnny Lee is an ace bloke - I've actually tried the trick using the wii remote pointing at my laptop screen and a homemade led pen. It works with the starboard software.

steveg Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 How about getting a tablet pc? Will work out a lot cheaper than an IWB or overlay, and if its only being used by 1 person the small screen size shouldn't matter. Steve
broc Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 We have some Activpanels at school, I prefer them to IWB, especially as you don't have to stand in front of a projector. We bought them for 'vertically challenged' staf members who could not reach the top of the board (lowering the board was not an option, before anyone suggests it!)

A Mimio or E-beam would probably be the thing for home, around £300 each. You'll need to combine with a projector (or stick it on the side of a TV/screen). The user might already have a home cinema projector - does anyone know if those "home" projectors are any good? One thing I saw at BETT was a Mimio turned on its side to use flat on a table, with Google Earth running on the table top. That looked cool. -- David Hicks
