A really weird one this one. We have 2 Lenovo M58 7220 machines which are having windows 10 put on them, machine A and machine B.

Machine A installs windows 10 without any problems, just like you'd expect however Machine B will not get past the Windows boot screen. What we've done..

1. Tried to boot the machine into Windows Deployment - machine hangs on the windows boot screen.

2. Replaced the RAM from machine A.

3. Disconnected all connections from motherboard and rear of machine.

4. Removed the HDD and booted off a CD (windows ltsb x64 and Windows 10 enterprise x64).

5. Updated BIOS.

6. Cleared BIOS to default settings.

7. Checked BIOS against Machine A.

Theres not a right lot we can do now apart from test Windows 10 x86 tomorrow and see what that does.

If anyone can shead any light on this, we'd be very grateful.

Have you tried the latest (1607) Windows 10 Enterprise ISO released today on VLSC?

Ill give it ago tomorrow, we tested 14332 ISO and that didnt work. Windows 7 x86 works fine on it though. Might have too see if windows 7 x64 can install on it.

Have you tried taking HDD from PC A and putting into PC B to see if it boots? Could be a disk controller issue or mobo, perhaps?

[edit] re-reading this, I'm not sure what I was thinking as this wont actually prove anything... except being quite confusing if it *does* boot...

I can see your thought process but we have tried swapping HDDs. I think it's a motherboard issue but not sure where. I guess once we have tried the x86 version of Win10 it might be worth us turning off all onboard devices on the motherboard to see what that does. @ICTDirect_Dave have you got any Lenovo's with the MTQ45NK boards or just the boards?

Could it be a bios problem. Try putting it in legacy bios mode incase it is trying to use the registered software bit that locks the bios to the operating system. Might help.

Can you get into safemode and disable disk caching? I had this issue with a BSoD? Disable disk caching fixed it. If its not booting at all can you restore from a system partition? It could be a rogue app maybe?

Good luck.

I'm not sure mate, but i can check. want to drop me an email?

Windows 10 LTSB x86 works fine on Machine B. For some reason it doesnt like x64. Even win7 x64 fails to install.

What processor is in there out of curiosity? M58's will go all the way back to 32 bit only cpus. That would explain why you can't get a 64 bit build on there.
