BalanceBox 400 screen mounts

Has anyone got any advice on the installation of BalanceBox touch screen mounts?

 

They're easy enough to install, but I can't work out how to balance the mount so it stays in the lower position.

 

The instructions are hopeless. One says to use a power screwdriver and run on reverse for 3 seconds to loosen and then 3 seconds to tighten. Another set says 5 seconds each way.

 

I've tried both and it just springs back up!

 

Any advice appreciated.

 

It's the first time I've used BalanceBox mounts ( hopefully not the last as they look like a good idea).

Morning Kevin,

 

There are 2 bolts at the top that need undoing with a cordless drill, 5 seconds sounds like a lot but they are long threads. This will release the tension on the springs. Keep undoing them, being even both sides, just until the screen begins to drop under its own weight then do them back up a tiny bit so that it moves with a push/pull but doesn't move under own weight. We were puzzled by the instructions too!

 

Ps, they're excellent and the teachers love them.

They are a brilliant piece of kit at what i think to be a very good price. Work for us in a special school for height adjustable to make the screens available for all students.

 

Yes there are some bolts at the top as if you are looking down on the bracket whilst mounted to the wall. Make sure you do the same on each side so that it is balanced! ie 5 turns on the left 5 turns on the right. Depending on the weight of the screen it may take a good number of turns as i was surprised. I thought it wasn't working at first!

We're going to try out a Balance Box here instead of the motorised units we've used before - hopefully the people installing it will have this figured out by the time they install ours, but it's good to know.
