localzuk Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 This is probably an odd request but what I'd like to do is have a machine set up with fluxbox running on it, and one webpage open on each desktop. Then, I'd like a script to be running which cycles through those desktops on a periodic basis. So, in one desktop I'd have Nagios open, on another I'd have ilnm, on another the latest helpdesk tickets etc... Can anyone point me in the direction of commands that will allow me to do this?
OutToLunch Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 No Linux guru, but wouldn't a full screen Firefox session with them all open in tabs be easier - then cycle through with something like the Tab Slideshow addon... 1

Hadn't thought of that... May be an idea. It all depends on whether I end up wanting to display a non web-based app as well. I have now found a script that does the job of switching desktops by command, the only bit left would be the timer, which I could do in java if needs be. But, as you say, for now I'm going to look at the tab slideshow addon for now.
