Windows 10 Setup Loop

Hi all,

 

Hoping someone has seen this before or can offer some suggestions.

 

I've just imaged my first Windows 10 laptop using WDS. Drivers are imported to WDS and the laptop has official support for Win10. I'm using a Windows 10 Education image that has been built on a VM, then sys-prepped and captured to WDS.

 

When I've imaged the laptop, it boots up to the setup screen asking for language etc (no unattended files used at the moment) and works through all the usual screens as you'd expect then reboots (no blue screen or error messages) and starts back up at the setup screen asking for language etc.

 

A colleague has had the same issue at another school too, but never found a fix. We've set Windows 10 up at another school with same setup and had no issues so not sure what's going on here.

 

I'm just trying to reimage with UEFI enabled to see if that makes a difference, but my colleague tried this so I'm not holding my breath.

 

Any suggestions appreciated.

Try just importing the WIM file into WDS, no capturing, check that's working

Also what build are you using?

 

I noticed the other day on VLSC, there's the original July 2015 build, November 2015 build, but also a revised April 2016 build (based on build 10586 or 1511), with updates up to April 2016.

I noticed the other day on VLSC, there's the original July 2015 build, November 2015 build, but also a revised April 2016 build (based on build 10586 or 1511), with updates up to April 2016.

 

I'm using the November 2015 build which I think is 1511? When I got the ISO from VLSC site, that was the latest version available to me

Is it the same hardware which you have got a the same school ? Has the boot order been changed ?

 

I would try and sort a OOBE file for your WIM file in WDS its so much easy and less stressed when its done.

YEp, image was built on same hardware at same school, although the issue my colleague had was on different hardware at different school.

 

I plan to sort a file, this was just doing one manually to test the image was working.

 

Not back there til next week so will have to check back again later
