Hitachi Ed A101/111

I know they're obsolete, but still useful kit and there will be a lot of experience out there.

 

Mine has to have the mirror opened manually, will then fire up, fan runs and lamp lights OK, computer acquired and image projected, then after about 10 seconds the lamp dies. No signs/warnings of overheating. Filter cleaned and passages vacuumed out etc. Lamp hours well within stated life

 

Any advice anyone, is there a cut out connected to the mirror which can be disabled

If they are the same as the A100/110 it seems to wait for resistance on the motor to tell the projector that the mirror is in the correct place. If you remove the motor connector and put either an led or resistor it will then allow the lamp to stay on. I forget the exact ones we have used but I know you can find the manual / motor on Google and it tell you amp/volts

Thanks, I did pick up somewhere that putting a bulb in circuit solved the problem, but not which circuit! I think it was a Dutch source

I did find the manual but I can't figure out the amp/volts values you mention.

The only relevant thing I did find is in page 14, where there is a photo and next to the motor connector you can read "EW01".

Can you please be more specific about which led or resistor I should try?

EDIT:

I found this tutorial in dutch (I think)

In page 4 there is this:

Soldeer nu een lampje ( 12v-0,1A) aan het kabeltje en plug het stekkertje weer aan de printplaat

Which I think means that I have to try out a 12v-0,1A LED.

What type of connector should I buy?

I will try this tomorow and I will let you know.

I connected by mistake the gold leg to red wire.

Will that be a problem?

I switched on the projector and the lamp stays on (while the mirror-door stays open).

It seems that I just saved about 140€ thanks to you and the forum!

I have had ones working that way just some projectors seem more picky then others. Glad it's working for you
