I've got it downloaded, but I haven't gone wandering... I keep thinking my phone is going to get stolen.

Servers seem to be working this morning.

Been wandering round work looking for pokemon.

 

Seems to use the same points of interest as Ingress for the pokestops and gyms.

@jlucas yeah, they are the same points as Ingress, but I've noticed not every portal has been copied across (unless some that were local to me have been removed.. I haven't played in months.)

ive caught a charmander and thats it cant find any poi in range on the screen and it kills battery life. Im hoping once it officially out in the uk there may be some pokestops within walking distance of somewhere lol

You can find them in the wild, I know a colleague picked up a Squirtle this morning to go with his Charmander.

 

 

There's my current collection, there's a Squirtle hiding off screen.. just hit level 5, got about 8 gyms between home and town, so going to see if I can grab a few on the way home.

 

Just noticed the duped Zubat. Transfer time.

It kind of bugged me that "Transfer" is akin to "Release".. I was hoping it would allow for trades.

Haunter just popped out of the bushes while I was in the taxi on the way to work this morning, driver was very confused by the mad panic as I'm turning the phone around as we go around corners to keep him on screen.

Nipped out to buy some lunch, picked up a Rattata and a Kakuna. Also another Zubat which was transferred straight away. No sense having multiple of the same breed.

I have 4 eggs, infinite incubators, but only able to use one at once. Boo!

3 of my eggs are 5KM, one is 2KM. I wonder what's inside? It better be something good.

Nipped out at lunch, caught a Venonat, Paras and Oddish, a 5k egg hatched to reveal a Staryu, grabbed a few dupe Zubats and Rattatas too.

 

Took out the local gym with the Venonat who'd taken too much damage to sit in there, so put in a Paras, colleague then fought it, beat my Paras and now owns it, but mine's sat in a defender slot.

Oh, so that's how Gyms work? I'm a sliver off Level 5 so I haven't challenged one yet.

My Venonat, 130 Colleague's got a friend with a 600+ Hypno. She owns half of the yellow gyms in Leeds center.

Hm.. So basically, 3 months in, Pokemon GO is going to really not be noob friendly...

They need to hurry up and add battling wild Pokemon in or else it will tank.. All the noobs will quit and all the players with high-level 'mons will be bored.

i have a 10km egg in my incubator, i worked it out at about 6 miles i have to walk before it hatches lmao

Well yeah, it's the original 151. You can have Vaporeon, Flareon or Jolteon.

 

I think they're adding more gens as time progresses, but I'm fine with just those for now. First gen was best anyway

Well not hugely, because with Ingress you could power-level newbies.. You just take them to the enemy farm and drop it, letting your newbie place the 1st and 8th resonator (or all of them, if they have enough) and get all the links/fields made. E-Z couple of levels. Once you're L4 in Ingress you're capable of going out and causing some damage solo.

 

I suppose - provided your pokemon get better if they defend your gym - you could just keep throwing Zubats and Magikarps at your friends gym, but they have to have a pokemon strong enough to capture it in the first place, so, difficult.

I think you can battle a friendly gym and still receive XP to level the pokeymans. There's a fair bit of info on the intertubes.

Took a different route because there were 2 pokestops.

 

There was a Clefairy about... but I couldn't find it.

Transfer the L10 Pidgey and Rattata, the 13 Drowzee and that 49 Krabby, you get dust and candies.
