Hi I'm fairly new to Microsoft access and i have been set with a task.

I have been told to create a register for my school which will be a checklist for each form to see if they have brought all there equipment with them.

I am trying to make it look like this for each form such as year 7 - group 1

Year 7.1

Access can be truly terrible at multiple user access. It's a good while since I've tried anything that did this (horrendous, breakdown inducing commercial software based on Access db) but I would strongly suggest you look at doing this web based with MySQL. You'll be learning far more useful and transferable skills, and it'll work.

If this is just to be done daily by form tutors I'd use a shared spreadsheet with a tab for each year group, assuming your MIS doesn't support doing this without using an external solution. A Google spreadsheet would be easy, and you could have an analysis tab pulling together the top offenders using a query. I agree with earlier posters that Access is awful for multi-user scenarios.
