localzuk Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 (edited) So. Resonant Rise has been up for 4 months now. So I'm thinking maybe its time to start thinking about a new server? Which mod pack would you guys like to see? I've put a selection of current modpacks that are well updated and stable. If there's any I haven't listed, let me know. Edited June 22, 2016 by localzuk
localzuk Posted June 23, 2016 Author Posted June 23, 2016 Bumping as I posted this at probably a bad time last night...
localzuk Posted June 23, 2016 Author Posted June 23, 2016 Any more views? Kinda one sided at the moment
AXE Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 All done with Agrarian Skies 2 now. Currently playing through Regrowth and just started Project Ozone. Don't expect those packs would really work well on multiplayer though.
bald_pig Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Whats the difference between the normal and expert modes for ftb infinity?
localzuk Posted June 23, 2016 Author Posted June 23, 2016 Whats the difference between the normal and expert modes for ftb infinity? Recipes like this: Basically, the game has true progression - you have to use every mod to progress, and there's crazy crafting grids too. So, it takes a *long* time to get to the end of the pack.
bald_pig Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Ahh man, it was bad enough sorting out electricity last time! Might just try to play as vanilla again.
localzuk Posted June 23, 2016 Author Posted June 23, 2016 Small problem with that. Vanilla tools are disabled for use other than crafting purposes. - - - Updated - - - The other option, of course, is to have a Vanilla server for a while. Get back to basics...
GuyJD Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I've not played Minecraft in a while and to be honest one of the main reasons is all the different mod packs on MP servers, I don't have time to sit down and learn new stuff I just want to get in an build something cool. This was the last one I spent any time with and that was back in 2012 with around 10 of us playing consistently for a fair few hours a week.

That's why I didn't play the last one I think we need something that can be played as vanilla, but you can move onto the mods when you are ready. I liked the last infinity server for that, I could just plod along playing with vanilla, until I decided to did my toe into the electric stuff (helped by everyone giving me their old gear!)

Yeah, that's a very good point - the higher complexity packs do exclude some players. Maybe we should just go back to FTB Infinity Evolved: Normal mode?
localzuk Posted June 24, 2016 Author Posted June 24, 2016 Now that that unimportant EU vote is over. More people should vote in this one - one that'll have a direct affect on us! 1
localzuk Posted June 25, 2016 Author Posted June 25, 2016 OK. So, I have an idea of what to do now - it'll be a compromise. That said, I am planning to run a competition on the new server when it goes online. Just trying to think of one which will work for everyone...
localzuk Posted June 28, 2016 Author Posted June 28, 2016 Sorry, been absolute chaos here the last few days! Trying to get a WAN set up across 6 schools. I'll try and figure some stuff out tonight.
bald_pig Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 No worries, I spent the evening poking about with my twitch streaming setup
