I am looking at whether we can get a bit of control over our printing. We use the free papercut but looking to buy into the NF licence for it.

We still currently just buy printers one by one in each of the rooms that need them. Departments buy their own toners. But our IT department don't like that they buy the toners but other departments print in their classrooms. We also have 5 photocopiers around the school (3 in reprographics, 1 in staffroom and 1 in library). The photocopier prints are charged.

I have some questions and wondered if people could answer for me? Either click the link below to my google form or post in the forum.

Do you use print credits?

If yes, how many do you give students?

If yes, how many do you give staff?

Do you have managed printers centralised? Or one in each room?

Do you charge departments for staff printing?

Do you charge students if they want to print more than their allocation?

Thanks

Completed it for you.

Also noted the fact we are still going through a lot of changes to make cut backs. Students will have a severe cut down credit value plus only able to print decent sized documents and no copying at all. Staff will have their limits dropped and all credits will go through a set dept budget value.

Do you use print credits? Yes

If yes, how many do you give students? (Special School so N/A)

If yes, how many do you give staff? £20.00 per term - (black and white A4 equates to 0.06p and a colour A4 is 6p)

Do you have managed printers centralised? Or one in each room? Managed printers centralised.

Do you charge departments for staff printing? Yes - each staff member has their 'own personal allowance' which is billed back to the department budget.

Do you charge students if they want to print more than their allocation? N/A
