Deleted file recovery?

Hi All,

 

Unusual request today, a teacher deleted a file from her desktop folder and now wants it back as she "deleted the wrong one" the only problem is that they don't get a recycle bin icon and cannot access it through windows explorer.

 

Does that mean the file doesn't go to the recycle bin or they cannot retrieve the file?

 

I'm currently running Recuva on it deeply so is taking an hour or two I was just curious in the time being if there is a faster way?

Restore from backup would be quicker. No bin = instant delete

This is what I was thinking and the only previous version was several days ago not yesterday. Seems like a lost cause..

Yeah but again she only created the document and deleted it yesterday and the most recent previous version is the 10th..

 

I've come to the conclusion that if Recuva doesn't find anything then its either inaccessible or been deleted

We will just say to them it can't be done, unless it is the head of course, else they will all be at it.

What type of file is it? A lot of programs save incremental versions as users are working on it
