Decimas6 Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Hi, Hoping someone can help, I've implemented an unattend file for our deployment images, but one annoyance is connecting to the WiFi, nearly everything else is 0 click and I'd like to implement this is possible, but everything I'm searching for is telling me how to hide wireless during set up, not auto connect. We currently use GPO and reboot with a cable in, but I'd like it to be all in one. Thanks
Davit2005 Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 We use Radius here so is simply matter of imaging and making sure the laptop is in the correct OU, restart and that works perfectly.

I'm not sure how to tie it all together now though. This is what I have, but I don't really want to put a plain text password in there. Any thoughts? You don't want to put a plaintext wireless password in your wireless.xml file? I don't know offhand if you can put encoded passwords in there, it'd be something to look up. Can you not restrict access to wireless.xml to just the user that's running the install / setup process?

I meant having to put an admin password in there for the domain the authorise the share access to use the wireless.xml

We install from a PXE boot image, with a password for an admin account stored in encrypted form server-side.

Just using WDS at the minute to capture with all software, and deployed with an unattend file. I guess what I'm lacking at the minute is, how do I tell my unattend file to use my wirelessprofile.xml? The code I posted previously, you have to enter domain admin credentials to the unattend. When "netsh wlan add profile filename=\\network\server\share\Wirelessprofile.xml interface=Wi-Fi" is run, it needs domain authorisation to access the actual wirelessprofile.xml. Unless I am missing something?
dhicks Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 I guess what I'm lacking at the minute is, how do I tell my unattend file to use my wirelessprofile.xml? Could you place unattend.xml in the NETLOGON share? It would then be accesible to any domain-joined machine (not sure how secure you need your wireless password to be).
