[mdt] Changes from MDT 2010 --> MDT 2012 Update 2

Hi all,

been using MDT2010 for years with Windows 7 quite happily deploying images a required, tested MDT2013 U2 with windows 10 and have found a "problem" where if the machine name is already part of the domain the deployment process will give it a random name.

With 2010 it would join the domain regardless if the machine was already a domain member.

 

have i missed something with 2013 in how it deals with machines which are already domain members (for example if i want to re image a room of machines) as de joining the machines from the domain before imaging is something i have not needed to do before?

Does the account MDT uses to join computers to your domain have the correct permissions?

for the purposes of testing i am using the domain administrator account & inputting the machine name into the MDT wizard once it boots from usb
