localzuk Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Our server room has been running hot for a few weeks, and we've been waiting for the air-con service company to come and sort it out (they were trying to say it was undersized, yet it was fine with twice the BTU of heat being generated previous to server upgrades). They arrived today, and cleaned the condenser and re-gassed the system. Can you tell when they did it?
Sagima Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Our aircon people came and told me the same thing a few weeks ago. It was fine with twice the number of servers in there three years ago but now it's not? I keep my server rooms at 22C. Your 27C might mean it's unpowered I suppose unless that's deliberate.
localzuk Posted May 18, 2016 Author Posted May 18, 2016 It's still on the way down. It's down at 21 degrees now.
localzuk Posted May 18, 2016 Author Posted May 18, 2016 Leveled off at 16.5 degrees. I've now readjusted it back up so it's at 22. No need to waste power
Nixon77 Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Air con systems never seem to be reliable. They will always leak or break down often. No matter how much money you pile into them. I guess they are constantly running so I really should not complain. That being said I have been in schools where their server rack was in the corridor and it was like an over, how it all carried on working for years is a mystery. It was a religious school, maybe it was god.
