Arthur Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 No junk though would be interested to see if they have listened to us all. This is what the Start Menu looks like in build 14361.
DJ-1701 Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 This is what the Start Menu looks like in build 14361. They removed file explorer from the Start Menu? Nooooooooooooooooo I don't want to have to mess about with putting that on there as a pinned item or something.
timbo343 Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 They removed file explorer from the Start Menu? Nooooooooooooooooo I don't want to have to mess about with putting that on there as a pinned item or something. Theyve changed the start menu. Its now a little icon on the left.
DJ-1701 Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Theyve changed the start menu. Its now a little icon on the left. On the left hand side of the screenshot, all I can see is Power, Settings, Account Options and right at the top All Apps.
timbo343 Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 On the left hand side of the screenshot, all I can see is Power, Settings, Account Options and right at the top All Apps. Oops, my bad. In 14332 its there. Oh MS!!!!
Arthur Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 (edited) They removed file explorer from the Start Menu? Nooooooooooooooooo Yeah. That is annoying. File Explorer is missing from the Start Menu and taskbar (although there is a shortcut to it under All Apps > W > Windows System and it's on the Win+X menu). Edited June 10, 2016 by Arthur
timbo343 Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Yeah. That is annoying. File Explorer is missing from the Start Menu and taskbar (although there is a shortcut to it under All Apps > W > Windows System and it's on the Win+X menu). Lets hope its not finished yet. Id be interest to see a 1607 build. Not sure what verion that is.
Arthur Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 I'd be interested to see a 1607 build. Not sure what version that is. Build 14361 is version 1607...
timbo343 Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 (edited) Build 14361 is version 1607... Oh! I didnt know that. Well done MS!! Lol. Just seen this too http://m.windowscentral.com/windows-10-build-14361-pc-everything-you-need-know Edited June 10, 2016 by timbo343
liveman2 Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 They should just make 2 editions Pro and Home. Those days were so much easier. That or just produce a single edition that has everything.
jmak Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Same here. I've prepped as much as I can - KMS, Group Policies, built a mandatory profile, tested extensively, still have no intention of rolling out 10 for at least 12 months. It's just not there IMO, and feels like 8.0 in many ways. Except that you'll never catch up as they release updates containing changes such as: Yeah. That is annoying. File Explorer is missing from the Start Menu and taskbar (although there is a shortcut to it under All Apps > W > Windows System and it's on the Win+X menu). Although that's no problem at all. If you use their deployment tool for schools, there's a tile right on the start menu giving you direct access to Onedrive. File explorer is so old school. /Sarcasm finished
gshaw Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 Is it just me or does this new 3 column layout look awful? Visual clutter everywhere... http://www.windowscentral.com/sites/wpcentral.com/files/styles/large/public/field/image/2016/06/start-menu-14361.jpg?itok=eEfMyV5F

gshaw Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Sounds promising, wonder if it means removal of the unwanted apps as well...
mavhc Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 More confusion, how much does it cost? What's the difference? Why is Windows 10 Pro Education a lower level than Windows 10 Education? I'm moving to linux, much easier
Arthur Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 Why is Windows 10 Pro Education a lower level than Windows 10 Education? Windows 10 Education is based on the Enterprise edition, so that's why it's a level above Pro and Pro Education.

mavhc Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 So the only thing I see is "Pay more to remove ads", sounds like Windows 10 Kindle Edition
DalekSec Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 So they are disabling Cortana to protect 'to protect students from possible exposure to sponsored/advertising content and possibly inappropriate material on the Internet.', What about the Education users who are not Students? E.g. ME! I use Cortana a lot! Can't see why they couldn't have something in group policy to disable Cortana! Then the teaching/admin staff could keep it....
Alis_Klar Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 Siri is already being used with Special needs children so I can't see why Cortana won't be used in the same way!
