Hi all,

Could some one point me in the direction of sourcing a basic intranet page.. theres lots of information we would like to get across to staff and pupils and im thinking this would be the best idea.

If anyone could share theirs that would be great.

I wod start building my own but i dont have the skills or time to.

We have a moodle install which we could use for it (which has been offline for a year due to lack of use) but im thinking that is a bit overkill for what i need.

It all really comes down to what you need from the intranet as ours is a simple HTML page which has clickable images for things like google, our VLE and a few other bits. If you need more advanced functionality then looking into WordPress or something wouldn't be a bad idea as it can be heavily modified to display only the content you need and you can even have a staff area which contains useful information, links, resources etc.

I'm sure a few other people here will have some better idea's though!

I can look into that for you however currently our RD portal is down so if you drop me a PM on Monday I'll look into it for you.

HTML pages in Word will do it very simply, or, depending what you wish to do, you can set up a WordPress site to use locally as suggested above??

We have 2 QNAP NAS boxes which support web shoting, including installation of WordPress - you can even offer 'admin' pages.

Do you use SIMS? If you run Cover, you will find that Cover has an HTML home page etc to display cover internally in a browser....

Same sort of approach
