Hi Guys,

We have around 30 Macs on Site, alongside a Mac Server Mini running OSx 10.75...

Obviously this needs upgrading, and I have a couple of concerns..

  • Will I have to reconfigure the server/user settings once upgraded? Or will it retain all the settings in terms of server side?
  • Which version in terms of hosting the server software is most stable? El Capitan? Or should we hold off and go to Yosemite?

Cheers!

It *should* in-place upgrade okay, though the number of changes between those versions is large. You Server app will no longer work so will need to be replaced. If you are using Profile Manager already, the settings should translate across. El Capitan is well regarded and stable, and has been out long enough to recommend it.

Sounds similar to us, we currently have two plans.

One to replace them with Windows PCs using Adobe software and two to replace all with new Macs and a new server.
