beeswax Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 I’m trying to convert some .vro files to .avi so that I can send some dvd’s to Daughter1 at University (she's studying medicine and the dvd's are recordings of that German chappie who cuts up bodies an tv, and thinks he's Joseph Beuys). My dvd recorder (the one under the telly) records in this format (.vro). I did a search last night but could only come up with a paid for app called avs converter. It’s cheap, but I’d rather go free if possible. Can anyone help? beeswax
StewartKnight Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 On my DVD recorder, you can "finalise" the disc, and it becomes playable in pratically all DVD players. I'm sure yours would be the same!

fooby Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Try renaming the .VRO to a .MPG or .MPEG then treat it as and mpeg and find a free mpg to avi converterer. Or You can get VSO DivX to DVD http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=vso_DivXtoDVD This can actually take loads of input files such as avi wmv mpg etc and makes a nice dvd from it. You can also buy their software called copy to dvd and then you have a one click solution to make dvd's 1

Cools Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 notepad copy and past below save as convert.cmd download ffmpeg copy the ffmpeg.exe to the windows folder and drag and drop your vis on to the batch file to convert ffmpeg -i %1 -s 320x240 -vcodec msmpeg4v2 %~n1.avi
