Hi

We have subscribed to web based program and it pulls and synchs data from SIMS. The login details for this web based program is the staff email address.

We did a manual synch on the SIMS server. On the web portal for some users ,it had populated complete email address i.e. [email protected] on the user name Colum , but for some users it has populated only the user name axc.

Is there a way that I can import the email address into SIMS, so that when a sync runs on the server the portal is updated with completed email address for all the users/do I need to manually enter the email address for each staff on the SIMS.

Thanks and help would be great.

Thanks for the post, I want to import only the email address, so not sure what data and columns are required to create a csv format to import through SIMS Bulk Import . Edited by genesis

Thanks for the post, I want to import only the email address, so not sure what data and columns are required to create a csv format to import through SIMS Bulk Import .

The headings are:

person_type surname forename midname upn_ni_tt email_phone notes location main primary

If I have a person called Matt Smith and I want to set email, location as Work and address as Primary here would be the CSV:

person_type,surname,forename,midname,upn_ni_tt,email_phone,notes,location,main,primary

E,Smith,Matt,,,[email protected],,W,T,T

Or - download the attachment and save as .csv instead of .txt and add your own data: staff email bulk import template.txt

Hi Matt,

Why is the person type E? Is it for employee?

Could it be shortened to - person_type,surname,forename,email?

Many thanks

Lifted this from their PDF:

This indicates the type of person whose email address or telephone number will be imported. Possible values are S, E, SC and EC for student, employee, student contact and employee contact respectively. Only current students, employees or their contacts are considered for import.

Edit: I've attached the PDF as it might be more useful than just me copying bits!
