Rip Off Britain: Faeces bacteria found on KFC ice - BBC News

Bacteria from faeces has been found on ice that was served to an undercover researcher at a KFC restaurant.

The discovery was made by the BBC's Rip Off Britain, which was investigating food hygiene at branches of several big-name takeaways and coffee shops.

A scientist who examined the results told the programme the presence of the bacteria increased the risk of anyone who consumed the ice becoming ill.

KFC said it was extremely disappointed and had launched an investigation.

I won't be eating there again. You can never be sure I suppose with any take away place.

To be fair, this isn't an issue purely with KFC or fast food/takeaways.

The moral of the story is anything that has been in contact with other people has potentially gone in contact with a whole manor of different things. Cross contamination from a huge number of different sources. While it seems and is disgusting, it's nothing new.

Also no one cleans their ice machines properly. Always request no ice in soft drinks. While in the UK manky ice machines probably wont make you ill in other parts of the world you are running the risk of getting cholera.

Yeah, I read that. The FSAs restauarant checker pretty much got DOS attacked all day as a result of the article. After I managed to get on it, I may have to reassess which takeaways I order from.:puke:

Totally true, if restaurants that charge a fortune can make mistakes or shall we say questionable things.. what does that say about the food industry.

No matter where you eat, no matter what food you buy - there's always a risk.
