thorpee Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Hi, Our Intouch has not worked now for close to 3 weeks. This is our main communication tool and we are struggling (now having to resort to outlook for school emails). We are not impressed with Capita's response and are now looking at Groupcall to replace InTouch and teacher app. Does anyone have any recent experience of groupcall? Does it work well with SIMS? Thanks Mark
Banjo Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 You could try Schoolcomms. They have write back functions into SIMS for attendance. 1
GREED Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 I am the Product Manager for Groupcall. I will not get involved, but I'm happy to answer any questions you might have along the way. More than happy to have our customers tell you about Messenger. Regards Graham
Schoolcomms Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 You could try Schoolcomms. They have write back functions into SIMS for attendance. Thanks Banjo, yes we read and write back attendance marks. Rather than integrate with lots of different MIS systems, we have chosen to focus on doing very good integration just with SIMS. For example you can also write back messages you send and receive to the Communications Log in SIMS, so you have a complete record of messages in SIMS. You can also bulk send assessment manager and profile reports, curriculum and exam timetables from SIMS as well. We are also (I think the only) provider that can be launched directly from the focus menu or pupil screens within the SIMS interface itself. So it's about as integrated an experience with SIMS as you are likely to find.
PhilNeal Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 @thorpee we do not think your issues are to do with InTouch but we are struggling to understand what the underlying issue is and not for want of trying. InTouch is running normally on our servers. 1

vikpaw Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Haven't used it for ages, but they did have a web based version, though I always preferred the desktop client. I would say definitely fine for tablets, not sure how easy it would be on mobiles, though things have probably developed loads in the last few years. Going back to the OP - Plenty of options to replace InTouch, I'm not sure there is a viable alternative for the Teacher App. Seen and heard lots about apps in the pipeline, but never managed to get a look at anything that actually worked in the field, and I asked a lot. Mobile friendly web interfaces are available, but I prefer a dedicated app any day.

vikpaw Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Sorry I meant parent app. Wires crossed a bit. :s Emerge for teachers but never saw the parent app, whereas Schoolcomms do the opposite. Messenger was good, works well with SIMS. Emerge was also good for teachers.
superfletch Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Hi, Our Intouch has not worked now for close to 3 weeks. Is(Are) there an(y) error message(s) associated with the problem?
