I have a problem with one of these.

I have put in two different bulbs, one brand new. The unit switches on then turns itself off after 5 seconds with the red warning light lit (along with the replace bulb light).

It is a dead projector?

Have you reset the bulb life counter?

also have you cleaned the filters?

contact your reseller. I know we at Promethean have supplied SW35s so it might be us, but it sounds like a service/firmware update might be called for.

Its a promethean supplied projector.

Unfortunately the warranty is up, to renew the warranty is exactly £100 more than a replacement projector.

As you say Mr M, The manual is no help and I had the same result with the googling. :(

we had a similar problem were the projector was cutting out because the heating that blows hot air out was directly above it. turned that off and its worked fine since then.

you dont have anything like that do you?

I think there might be a recessed switch on them (paperclip time). The older ones certainly have it. If you hold that in while starting up (you may have to keep it pressed) the thing won't turn off so you can reset the timer.

I thought there might be, so now I will be standing on a desk sticking a paper clip in a mains powered projector, what could go wrong?

Expect to read about me on fark. :)

I think the only thing left is a service, or a new projector. It depends which makes more financial sense to you.

I have 1 silly suggestion you can try if you're really desperate, put it in a really cold room for an hour, and give it another go. Could be a problem with the temperature monitors.
