Hedgehog recovering at animal sanctuary after it had its spines cut off with scissors

Frankie (the hedgehog) has ringworm. Apparently there is a good chance that whoever cut Frankie's spines off will also be suffering from ringworm now.

 

Frankie is making a good recovery at Cawthorne Hedgehog Rescue and Care Centre in Barnsley.

I get so so angry, for any animal. It's a hedgehog, they're dying off. It's got spikes for a reason. Leave it in the damn garden!

Don't know but anyone going to the doctor with a new ringworm complaint in that area of Barnsley is a good candidate for having committed this barbaric act.

I am so sorry for any animal suffered from people: cats, tigers, elephants, snakes, puppies, hedgehogs...

 

I know! Me too! I hate animal cruelty! It makes me sick!

 

Tiny silver lining, though: As awful as this experience was for him, at least cutting the spines wasn't agonisingly painful or permanent. Once he's shed his spines and grown new ones, he'll be back to his old spiky self.
