Thinkpaad Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Is this group policy setting not used in Windows 10 Pro outside an AD environment? I found that setting from here: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/make-windows-10-notify-you-before-downloading-or-installing-windows-updates And in their screenshots, once that group policy is set, the control panel page for updates is suppose to show a red "Some settings are managed by your organization" message, but mine doesn't show that.
Davit2005 Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 (edited) Yes users and Computers only get GPO's applied when they are members of Active Directory. I've never tried but you could use local policies instead if you have no AD Domain, management will not be that great but I guess it should be possible. Via gpedit on the local workstation and every workstation that you need the setting on. Edited March 22, 2016 by Davit2005 1
Thinkpaad Posted March 22, 2016 Author Posted March 22, 2016 I changed the setting in the local policy editor.. so it looks like it doesn't work.
