Hello,

 

One of our teachers has purchased a service, obviously without consulting us. I know!

 

The instructions are as follows:

 

1. Ask your IT guys to set you up ONE email account for your whole cohort called 'markup@ SCHOOLEMAIL ADDRESS'. eg '[email protected]'. Please do this asap and send us the address. We can then generate a pass word. This should be an email address that can both send to and receive from [email protected]

 

2. ALL students should use this email address when submitting their answers and not their personal addresses or their individual school addresses - that way we do not know their name from their email address, only the school they are from.

 

3. When students answer their questions, they should just write their number and their school in the 'name' box. Eg Fictitious School 1. This means that again, the markers do not know their name.

 

My question is. How would you go about doing this sensibly? It needs to be done for about 20 students. It just feels like a massive pain in the neck.

We basically said no. As our kids access OWA through auto-sign in there wasn't a nice way to get them to login to a separate account "and" send from it. (Not to mention by end of that day)

 

MarkUp agreed they could just use a Staff Account who forwards the emails to themselves (not IT), or a generic "public" email account as it's nothing confidential. (They use a generic Number instead of a Username so no-one knows who sent the answers)

 

We did consider setting it up like an auto-forwarding rule that anything that goes from the account sends off to the email, but that's still issues with them retrieving those emails unless you give everything access to the box.
