Volume Shadow Copy service stuck on 'Stopping'

Hello,

 

Our backup had not worked over the weekend and when checking the services I can see the volume shadow copy service is displaying 'Stopping'

 

This is on a 2008r2 server

 

Can't find much info in Google.

 

Would be very happy for some advice. Thanks

Give the server a bounce and see if it sticks at the next backup, sometimes it can get stuck when snapping as part of the backup process which will usually make the backup job fail / hang a reboot and it will probably go away and not be an issue again If it is give the Backup agent took a reboot if your using something with an agent on the host.

Gave it a reboot and service seems fine. Will check after next backup.
