Filtering Youtube App

Anybody filtering the youtube app on IOS successfully? Got smoothwall in place, youtube being pushed to restricted successfully through browsers but not getting the same in youtube app. Can see the content going to *.googlevideo.com in logs but no attempt to go restricted. Install YT Kids instead of full-fat YouTube for your users (if you are configurator'ing your devices). It does a pretty good job!

We use lightspeed and it blocks youtube perfectly fine. It even blocked our sixth form consortiums website as it was infected with an virus!!

Restricted youtube doesn't work on the app. The app does weird stuff™ and generally doesn't like having its traffic messed with.

 

If you have MDM in place, you could install YouTube for Kids instead.
