[movie] Bond - Who next then?

There's quite a bit of speculation circulating the intarwebs about who'll be offered the mantle of Bond next, with a whole host of names being put up to the list. Three I keep hearing are Idris Elba, Tom Hardy and Tom Hiddleston.

 

Not limiting yourselves to just the three above - who do you think should be given the chance?

 

Personally - I'd like a move back to "Movie" bond, and away from "Literary" Bond (I refuse to use the term "Book Bond" as it sounds like I'm talking about beverages).

 

The writers do still have quite a way to go to get Literary Bond, but the problem with him is, he's not a very nice person. at. all.

 

Literary Bond is a Womanising, Chauvinistic, Alcoholic, Psychopath - Not a good guy at all, but a bad guy in a good guy's suit.

 

I prefer the Film Bond, who is far more suave, sophisticated and much more of a "hero"

 

On the three above, I'm not sure how Elba would take the role, but I think Hardy would be trying to take another step towards Literary, while Hiddleston would see a "Glorious" return to the slight silliness, yet wonderful charm of Film Bond.

I'd love idris as bond but it'll probably be damian lewis

 

I should correct that - i'd love idris as luther being drafted in to be the next james bond. I've only seen him in one other thing so I can't separate the character and actor very easily in my mind

That would be an interesting and unexpected casting choice that might net a lucky punter a few grand but as an idea maybe they could jointly combine the new doctor and bond - idris (as luther) would be great as either

Hardy would continue with the theme of Bond as a bruising piece of weaponry. Hiddleston would certainly be the more suave, womanising, dashing sort of Bond. Should we go for something different? I think a more left field, slightly less famous actor may be a good call.
