Hi all, Just had a raid drive flashing amber on an old Dell Power Edge 2900 (no hot swap drive installed)

I have pulled the drive out so I can order a new one, but have realized the server does not have Dell Open Manage installed. Just went to the dell website and it lists 53 downloads under Systems Management with a lot named Dell Open Manage.

Which download do I need to get into the raid config.

Also, should I put the faulty drive back while the new one gets sent out?

Unless you're looking to change the RAID config in the OS, you don't need OpenManage. The array will quite happily rebuild itself when the drive gets replaced.

Never really bothered with OM. Ocasionally think about installing it on ESX but more to do and DRAC does most of what we need.

New 730's have NFC for the DRAC too ;) I configured ours from my phone :)
