There is not enough memory or system resources to start powerpoint

Hi all

I dont know if anyone has come accross this before and can help me out. I have a webpage sitting on a share in F:\subjects\french\homepage.html its kind of an intranet. This homepage opens various files, most of which are powerpoint and it worked fine until the start of the is term, now standard users are getting the above message, all I did was put windows updates on over the last half term.

By process of elimination (by going through each GPO) I have narrowed it down to the setting User configuration\policies\admin templates\windows components\internet explorer\internet control panel\security\intranet zone template this was set to medium and I have had to set it to not configured to get it to work.

My question is, is there a way I can make this path trusted without turning off intranet zone template security? I have tried various things using site to zone assignment list but it doesnt like the fact that the path doesnt start with http:// etc.. Or would you just leave intranet zone template to not configured?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

For a file path, use file://server/path - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File_URI_scheme

This should let you specify this location as an Intranet zone. You may need to use the full path of the location instead of the mapped drive to fire it up though.

Cheers, I can specify the whole path in the GPO but it does not seem to show up in the browser on the client. I am going to set it to not configured for now.
