Hi all,

Hopefully one of you fine people can help me out. I've installed SIMS (for the first time) on a laptop and it completed successfully. However when trying to log in to SIMS we get the error shown below:

I've got the sims.ini and connect.ini configured correctly and they both match another laptop we have that has SIMS on and that works flawlessly. I can't seem to get to the bottom of this! I've tried 2 different SIMS logins and reinstalled SIMS twice but to no avail. It's obviously reaching the SIMS server successfully because it's prompting me for a username and password but right after entering these details I get the error.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Paul

I had this error with one user the other week - I resolved it by deleting their 'My SIMS Documents' folder from their home drive. (Assume something had been corrupted).

Correct this is a known error which usually relates to permissions to the users home drive or my documents types Or the Re directed my documents pointing to an older user document server is a classic.. When sims launches it creates two folders one called tempreportSims or something similar and a My sims documents if Sims is unsuccessful it will flag the error you mentioned . First, take a look at the following registry key: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders, inspect the personal key and where it is pointing to, that will give you an indicator.
