button_ripple Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 We have got a HP Laserjet 1022nw connected to our wireless network. The print queue for this printer is set-up on a Win XP Pro machine and is shared to allow staff to print to it (money is very tight at the min!!) Only problem is when people send a document to print I have to open the printer queue to make the job go through. (nothing else, just open it). What I want to know is - y? This doesn't happen to me when i print from the computer itself just when staff print to it over the network.

Geoff, you sound like you've had experience of this so I'll tap your noggin if I may. We're looking to setup a bunch of old laptops that have wireless nic's in them but I don't want to put them on the schools wireless LAN. The only thing they've noted that they'd still want to do with them is use printers so wireless printers are an obvious solution. I'm thinking seriously about the Silex/Procom SX-2000WG or C-6700WG Granted I know I'll need to setup each laptop to have access to the unit but beyond that are there any major issues to consider?
Oops_my_bad Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 I had nothing but problems with this particular printer, just couldnt get it to work properly. In the end I got rid and bought a 2015N and seperate HP wireless print server. Works flawlessly.
