have a problem with a sahara projector (yes the ones we got for free)

just recently (last night) the projector started cutting out after about 15minutes

tried looking for a filter to clean but to no avail,

does anyone know how to reset the lamp on this projector?

anyone had any similar problems with this model (av-3618+)

cheers

Hi, resetting the lamp will not help you, sounds lamp related though, it maybe you need a new lamp i dont suppose you have one to try.

Or i have seen on some the thermal sensor drop from its fixed position and cause this problem try the projector the other way up if this cures it, it is the sensor if not i would try a different lamp.

How old is the lamp how many hrs on it, that model has an hrs counter in the menu.

It there any chance that this projector may have been switched off at any time with oue being allowed to cool?

Hi mark

i have been reading the threads regarding the av3618 projector thermal sensor, could you explain to me where it is inside the machine. i have a faulty projector in a school and it works upside down but powers off after a few seconds when sat on the desk (correct way up). i have had the lid off and cleaned out all the ducts with an air line but im not sure where the sensor is and where it should sit.

would be great if you could help me as the school are quite desperate to have it back asap as another engineer has told them it broke and they need a new one at £900. This is BULL in my opinion, im trying to save them money they haven't got.

thanks for you time

Are these the ones with the lens in the centre and they are 'portrait' to the screen?

If so their are 2 filters, one either side of the lens, you have to take the projector down from the mount as they are in the bottom (top when mounted)
