Howdy everyone.

My data manager is asking if anyone uses / knows of alternatives to the "programmes of study" areas of SIMS at Secondary/Academy level?

Cheers,

There are loads but have they won the BETT Award?

You tell me? :-)

(I guess this is a cryptic way of saying you, SIMS, have one an award - but that doesn't stop my data manager not liking your solution for it. I haven't a clue as I don't touch the assessment side of SIMS at all, full stop, no way, thank you)

Is this KS3 Assessment without Levels? 4Matrix are just in the process of launching their new suite of tools for this. They'll email you some details if you contact them.

With limited flexibility (at the moment) the PoS is unusable in a school who have devised their interpretation of AWoL, although I can see how it generically works for most schools who don't want to change.

One of our Statisticians has developed his own, bespoke, SQL application to capture levels against descriptors. It's not very pretty but it seems to satisfy the current need with the flexibility to be easily adapted as and when needed. My own concern is that we are reliant on the one person who knows how this all works rather than an off the shelf solution.
