TraineeGeek Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Hi, we've reached the maximum number of APs for our RUCKUS ZD1106 (4 indoor and 2 outdoor APs) how do we go about adding 2 more APs? Do we need to upgrade the controller? Thanks TG
Steve21 Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 You can upgrade the licenses on the controllers to support more APs Think it's 6->12->25->50 unless it's changed Steve

Speak to your supplier that you bought it from or speak to @Net-Ctrl who will be able to help you do a trade up but Ruckus will need to speak to you regarding the DealReg. I did speak to Ruckus at BETT and they will deal with end users direct if its a big project, they aren't interested in dealing with the end users if its for 1 or 2 APs but in your case you might be able to speak to them about replacing your entire kit. 1
Net-Ctrl Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Thank you for the mention @timbo343. @TraineeGeek as mentioned in the thread you can upgrade your 1100 series controller to support 12-25-50 Aps, this just requires the relevant license. Alternatively, as also mentioned above you can upgrade to the 1200 series controller. All depends on what you're looking at achieve. If you would like to discuss further please PM me and I can get one of the team to get in contact and go through your options/pricing in more detail.
NB9457 Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 It could be cheaper or a similar price to get a new system such as UniFi, that or see how much a used ZoneDirector is and pair them up if it's possible. I've done this with the netgear stuff as it was a lot cheaper than buying the licenses.
