Should our 2008r2 server be using DFS and not FRS for DC replication?

Was just about to install a new 2012r2 DC in to our 2008r2 domain and ran dcdiag which gave a few replication issues. Each of the errors had this - Recommended Action: See Knowledge Base Article: Q312862 and on further research the error is not a big issue but just informing me that our 2008r2 servers are using FRS to replicate.

 

This is a primary school and we have 2 DC's.

Should I just ignore and install my new 2012r2 server?

 

Would installing a 2012r2 server automatically migrate from FRS to DFS

 

Anyone else already done this????

I did it many years back, when first introducing 2008 DCs. Yes, you should do it - it's not difficult and it improves DC replication performance.

Ha, famous last words. Might do it remotely over the weekend as something is bound to go wrong.
